Is it too early to think about fall? Well, maybe it's too early to think about the weather but we can't help but dream about the clothing -- especially when we're tempted with amazing lookbooks! Case in point: Mother Denim never fails to impress us with their practical yet artful jeans. There's even a pair featuring animal and plant illustrations. Also, they've styled the lookbook with some of our favorite designers including Isabel Marant and Vanessa Bruno. We'll be waiting for fall!

When illustrating our favorite trends and designers we always seem to reference one particular girl -- Kate Bosworth! She's pretty much the epitome of a DIANI girl: Effortless style, a love for the classics with a keen eye for trends and a slight obsession with Isabel Marant. So, can we just sit back and appreciate some of her latest and greatest looks?

During their New York Fashion Week travels, DIANI owner and buyer, Caroline, and assistant buyer, Victoria, stopped by a Bergdorf Goodman shopping event featuring Rag & Bone. Hosted by Rag & Bone designers David and Marcus, the event proved to be a total feast for the eyes! Colorful denim, nubby tweeds and geometric color-blocking were just a few of the amazing trends spotted during the night.
Mother co-founders Tim Kaeding and Lela Tillem

We're not the only ones gushing over Mother Denim! Pop Culture blog The Feast recently sat down with Tim Kaeding, one half of Mother's design team, to talk shop. Read on for our favorite highlights!
Why did you start Mother?
Tim Kaeding: I’ve been making jeans for years... I really wanted to do my own denim project from the ground up, with the people I like to work with, and make the things I like most. Pretty simple, no real gimmicks just cool jeans...
What's the most difficult thing about doing what you do? Tim Kaeding: Making a jean is a lot more complex than it may seem... Designing a wash that works perfectly with the style it’s in and making sure it is the absolute best fitting jean in the market.
In your opinion, what's trending in terms of denim right now? Tim Kaeding: Denim is showing up outside of a basic 5 pocket a lot which makes designing Mother really fun right now. There is a lot of saturated color and lighter shades that are great too. The dark rinse skinny is a staple for many, but it’s a great time to push the boundaries too. Intrigued? Mother!
If Tim Kaeding, former creative director/designer for 7 for All Mankind, and Lela Tillem, former president of sales and marketing at Citizens for Humanity have things their way, denim will be making a full scale comeback. Meet
Mother, the denim line that's taken the fashion world by storm.
You're probably wondering, with so many denim lines competing for attention, what sets Mother apart? Its fits and fabric! "We weave in fibers more typically used in knits, then treat them with fabric finishes -- but those are secret," Kaeding says. The result? The best fitting jeans we've seen in ages.
With this season's heavy emphasis on the 1970's, we seriously loving the
Drama Jean, so be sure to check it out. One last question remains though. What's with the name? "Mother is an ironic play on a pretty strong word," explains Kaeding. "It can be nurturing or a cuss, but it's in your face." Sounds like a perfect fit to us!

The best thing about this season's denim trends? Options! From '50s inspired cropped denim to the updated straight slouch boyfriend jean we've got you covered. Scroll down to view our must-have styles of the season, inspired by Refinery29's
Best Fall Denim Trends.
1. CROPPED 50'S STYLE
The classic 1950's petal-pusher gets a 21st century makeover with slim cuts, zippered ankles, and a variety of washes. Our recommendation to recreate the look? GoldSign's
Scene Cropped Jean in taupe.
2. GRAFFITI PRINT DENIM
We love this grown up take on the 1980's acid wash trend. The designs are more artful and one of a kind. Try GoldSign's
Jem Legging in Toria, it's a subtle take on this loud trend.

3. SKINNY CARGO JEANS
Skinny cargos are much more flattering than their bulky cousin the boyfriend cargo. Femininity and utility in one? We're sold! Try Bishop of Seventh's
Hester Cargo to get the look.
4. THE STRAIGHT SLOUCH JEAN
This new breed of denim is part boyfriend jean, part skinny jean. The straight slouch is perfect for those of us who want a more tailored pair of blues while still maintaining that "had them your whole life" look. We think the
Patti Jean from TEXTILE delivers just this.
5. REVAMPED '70s STYLE JEANS
The flare jean has been reincarnated. This 1970's classic is popping up in styles that range from crisp trouser cuts to a more a modified boot-cut. We think TEXTILE's
Jimi Jean, inspired by Mr. Hendrix of course, is truly authentic looking.
Have you ever wondered where fashion designers draw their inspiration from? After reading Lucky Magazine's Denim Top 10, a list of denim's top designers, we can tell you the answer is everywhere! When we saw Ya-el Torbati, designer of Raven Denim, was included we had to share some of her unique inspirations.
Ya-el listed uniforms, because "they're inherently tailored, which is a key look for Raven". Also on her mind: Charlotte Gainsbourg, vintage buttons, flea markets, the city of New Orleans, and tv show, The Facts of Life. Who knew! To shop
Raven Denim you can browse our website, visit us at DIANI, or give our customer care line a call.

Here at DIANI we've recently gotten our paws on Raven Denim's latest collection and we're absolutely loving it! Established in 2004 in New York City this line fuses a vintage aesthetic with attention to detail and a profound understanding of fit. LA based designer Ya-el Torbati uses fine Italian denim fabrics to create each pair while the intricate washes are hand processed in Los Angeles.
If you've been looking for denim with an amazing fit and a little something extra, Raven Denim has it. Come on into DIANI and let us help you find your perfect pair!
